Skateboard Bolts & Riser Guide - Updated 2022
If you are not sure if you need a riser pad between your skateboard and the trucks then this skateboard bolt and riser guide should help. Riser pads are durable plastic rectangles designed to sit between your deck and your trucks. The main function of a riser pad is to elevate your wheels enough so that wheelbite (when your wheels rub the board) is eliminated. If you skate wheels over 54mm we advise you to consider a riser because the distance between your wheels and board needs to be increased a little which is where the riser pad comes into play. This simple visual guide shows you the correct size riser pad and the corresponding size truck bolts for your preferred wheel size. This guide should answer all your questions.
