Slam Welcomes Jak Pietrya

Posted on

We are stoked to finally welcome Jak Pietryga to the Slam City Skates team. Many moons ago Jak’s weekend missions to the city used to often begin at our old Neal’s Yard shop. His crew would pass through early doors before spending their day scouring the streets. It’s great to have him on the team list where we feel he belongs. Jak is no stranger to gathering footage, he has been clocking it up for years. Sometimes through no fault of filmer or whoever is being filmed it can take a while to gather momentum and break the seal when it comes to making an edit. This was by no means the case for Jak and Mark Jackson who put this clip together over a weekend, testament to Jak’s ability and familiarity with our capital. Keeping this thing a family affair Joe Buddle was enlisted to shoot this Switch Krook grind…

We are proud that Jak is finally on the Slam team list and would like to thank Nike SB for supporting this project to announce the news. Throughout this clip Jak is wearing current Nike SB clothing which includes the Everett Sherpa Hood. He is also wearing a new shoe for us in the way of the Stefan Janoski High Tape. This takes one of the most famous skate shoes of all time and gives it a slight re-working. Taping on the Vulcanised sole is slightly higher which changes their aesthetic but also improves flick and durability…

You can see all of the October 17 shoes and clothing used in the edit from Nike SB HERE. Jak now rides for Slam City Skates, Nike SB and Yes Fam.
