Nike SB Free

Nike SB have a huge pool of new technology to draw from and their range of footwear is like a work in progress, even staple models get improved and updated. Adding new developments to existing designs is part of the game but innovating and creating new classics is their ultimate aim. When the Free Run came out it revolutionised running shoes by offering an experience that is as close to running barefoot as you can get. Using this technology in skateboarding footwear was obviously an attractive prospect but reappropriating it and making it work with the specific support required took a lot of wear testing and design tweaks behind the scenes. Finally this mission was accomplished and the Nike SB Free was born. This is a shoe with unsurpassed boardfeel and freedom of movement, it was developed by working closely with team riders like Sean Malto…

These shoes were designed to fit like a glove and move along with the natural motion of the foot, enabling and enhancing every flick. Their flexibility and the natural movement offered is obvious straight out of the box. Another thing you will notice immediately is how light they are. Their simple aesthetic and classic suede upper don’t scream and shout about the extensive design behind them. These are like the evolution of previous ambitious design projects like the E-Cue and the Zoom Tre but what just arrived is a far more advanced and functional incarnation. We have two colours available…

In Sean Malto’s words “To have that feeling of direct connection with the SB Free and exactly what’s happening with my feet and board is what gives me the confidence to do new things and progress my skating. If you’re comfortable on your board, if you feel good, connected, well then everything else will follow from that.” Shop for this brand new design for 2015 and more from Nike SB HERE
